The key to your question is ADSL modem with built-in 802.11g Wireless Router Taken at face value I would say no ucsabee your device appears to have an ADSL port for the WAN interface. Ethernet and ADSL are twoo very different technologies. Most cable/dsl routers have an ethernet port for the wan interface ucsabee you usually have a dsl or cable modem in front of the router which actually converts the ethernet coming out of the WAN port on the router into something the provider can understand. If your router has an integrated modem, then you just need to go get you a $60 wireless router from staples and set it up.Just for the record, DSL and Cable modems are not modems, they are actually layer 2 bridges.Hope this helps!VA:F [1.9.12_1141](from 0 votes)

I\'m having so much trouble with these idiots. Been with them forever, but treated worse than a new customer. Too expensive, too hard to deal with. I\'m leaving.

Snap is a lot slower than 7.6Mb/s. My measurements say it\'s closer to 1.2Mb on a good day. Don\'t sign up with them if download speed is important to you. Their customer service is good though and they let you buy naked DSL which is excellent. You can buy more GB instantly just by going to their website which is also nice. The speed is NOT a copper-loop issue. Speed tests to New Zealand sites are fine. So you can squarely blame Snap for not buying enough Internet bandwidth to serve their customer demand, which is pretty silly since we pay by the GB.

As a professional IT service provider this is possible the worst provider for stable internet connections, constant down time with no explanation. They claim a backbone support of TCL but use Xtra mostly as clearly it is the cheaper option for them to do so. If you want poor international performance for the greater part of the day with incredible packet loss then this is the provider for you. ll business customers that rely on stable data transfer outside of New Zealand to stay well away from any provider that connects to the telecom nz back bone.

This is an excellent ISP for big downloaders. You'd be hard pressed to find Pro plans in NZ that let you download 60gig of data a month for under $90.

I changed to Snap from Orcon and have NEVER had a better connection Orcon went down down down to absolute crap over the last couple of years useless in my opinion ! With Orcon I got 5+ disconnections a day - I changed modems, filters, telecom checked lines but nooo Orcon still said something was wrong at my house. Connected with Snap and have had one disconnection in months ! BEST ISP EVER fast speeds too

Went for Snap Pro plan - actually costs you just under $100 month if you dont get their phone option. First guy dealt with incorrectly processed application resulting in 3week delay! However, wont hold 1 idiot against them. Router arrived pre configured and no issues with connection - literally plug and go (no port or firewall problems either!) Speed is what you would expect on Telecoms aging copper loop. All in all (other than initial hiccup) excellent ISP

This is your opportunity to share your experiences of this ISP with other users — is it really as fast as it claims to be? Is their customer service any good? Do they have regular outages, or is their service reliable?

Please keep your comment short and on-topic.
